Psychotherapy / Single Sessions

"Man's main task in life is to give birth to himself, to become what he potentially is. The most important product of his effort is his own personality." (Erich Fromm)

If you feel that your own resources aren't sufficient to deal with any longer, psychotherapy might help. Traditionally, psychotherapy deals with psychological and mental problems, but is increasingly seen as a practicable and modern way to deal with challenges and occasional life crises.
The best improvements are seen when the client comes to the decision to start psychotherapy on his/her own, and when he/she participates actively and regularly in the sessions that both, he/she and the therapist, have agreed upon.

You can find some information about the usual process and general framework of psychotherapy here.

Couple Therapy, Relationship / Marriage Guidance

"In a world becoming more and more artificial and impersonal, the value of healthy interpersonal relationships increases. We should avoid being forced into the thought «What happened to love?» one day."
(Desmond Morris)

Couples find themselves under enormous pressure and challenges these days: career vs. private life, sexuality, fidelity, children growing up, questions of upbringing, financial issues and many more all have to be solved on a mutual basis. High pressure in daily life causes the crises to develop which can culminate in a breakup or divorce.
Even without acute crises, many people can't avoid asking themselves:"how can I bring more energy, more emotions back into our relationship?" or"should I break up with him/her now?"..

In a therapy session (with you alone or together with your partner, moderated) we can look for solutions that suit you both. Such a solution wonn't necessarily result in a 'Happy Ending', but can also lead to a new start: a future with new plans and perspectives. Sometimes, there's just a wish to achieve more clarity about a confused and chaotic situation.

Children and Teenagers

We spend almost one fifth of our lifetime as children and teenagers - from our own experience we are all aware of the ups and downs that occur during this time. There are times when the downs can develop into serious crises, straining the family's life as a whole - each member of the family in his/her own way. The most common problems are school-related problems, obtrusive behaviour ('behavioral disorders'), learning disabilities, communication problems, drug abuse, involvement in sects and eating disorders. For single parents it's especially challenging to resolve these issues..

An introductory discussion helps to clarify the first steps possible and/or required to resolve the difficulties, regular psychotherapy or counselling sessions are possible as well.

I offer Counseling (no Psychotherapy!) by email, phone or chat.
The advantage of online counseling for those that need it but can't leave their home is obvious, but please note that this service can not be seen as a replacement for psychotherapy, couple therapy or similar forms of treatment.
